MBGC Cheerleading Program

2010 Fall Season 

AGE REQUIREMENTS: Cheerleading is open to girls between the ages of 5 and 18. Marlboro Boys and Girls Club registration is mandatory for all participants.

COACHES: We welcome back all previous coaches and urge more coaches to join us.  A coaches meeting will be scheduled, shortly. All those interested in coaching this upcoming season, including previous coaches, should contact the Cheerleading Commissioner, Deniere "Dea" Allen at Cheer4Marlboro@verizon.net.  We strongly urge all those interested to attend the coaches meeting.                            

SEASON DURATION: The season begins in August and extends through November for the football playoffs and championship games.

CLINICS: A free clinic to teach cheers, stunts and dances will be held at Sasscer Field. 

Cheer Camp: August 2-5, 2010, 6:30 p.m.

Stunt Camp: August 9-12, 2010, 6:30 p.m.

 

PRACTICES: Teams generally practice one to three days a week, depending on the coach’s availability. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all practices

GAMES: Cheerleaders are required to cheer at all home games. Games are generally held on Saturdays.

UNIFORMS:  Cheerleading uniforms will be worn by all girls. The cost of the uniform is not included in the $50 Sport Fee. Prices for uniforms TBA.

TEAM PICTURES: - Team and individual pictures will be takes during the season. Date and time TBA.

FUNDRAISING: All families will be required to participate in a fundraiser during the season.

Competition: Regular season cheerleaders have the opportunity to participate in a Boys and Girls Club competition held in November of each year on the campus of the University of Maryland, College Park. Although participation is not mandatory, it is an excellent opportunity for the girls to show what they learned and have loads of fun.                                     

 ADULT APPAREL:  An opportunity to order adult team apparel will be offered during the season.
